A Design for Living Registration Information

Please read this carefully. It contains all the details you will need to know.

1. Mark your Calendars for each workshop date. Secular, national, and religious holidays are noted. You can find this information on the Workshop Schedule page listed above. Each session is scheduled to be two hours long, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm CT. We may or may not use all of that time. Please use a new, unmarked Big Book.

2.If you must miss more than two sessions, we ask that you drop the course for this semester. Each group of participants forms its own personality and dynamic energy. We all want you to be a part of that but we realize that life happens and things come up. You are always invited back for another term. If there are any openings, we will admit attendees through the second week. After that, the course is closed.

3. Expect a lively discussion. These workshops work best when everyone participates. Although I will cover this again in the first session, this is not the only way to read the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. I don't pretend to be an expert on the literature. But I have studied and made notes for years and learned from may others. The real reason that I offer these studies is to learn from you--and I'm always learning more from participants. In turn, I'll pass along everything I've gathered from you.

4. Come prepared. It is suggested that you read the text in advance so that you are prepared to discuss it. As with everything in life, the more you put into it, the more you will receive. The secret of my study is the six color highlighting of the text.

Green for promises.

Pink for warnings.

Blue for instructions.

Orange for prayers.

Purple for questions.

And yellow for any significant comments.

I also use a red pen for comments in the book so that my notes will stand out. You may use whatever note-taking method works for you.

5. You may feel free to bring snacks. I will provide water and coffee at my own cost.

6. I will have copies of supplemental readings for the study that should be returned to me at the end of each session. The supplemental handout is available for purchase at $12.00. This covers the cost of printing. In accordance with the Eighth Tradition, no one profits financially from this study. It is for free and for fun.

7. You will receive a confirmation e-mail  with the address and final notes once you have registered.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to write to me.

Very truly yours,

Lee L
